1990 - I began Sanctioned Racing & in 1991 I started racing Go-Karts
at East Lansing and I-96 Speedway.
1992 - I became Track Champion at Ravenna Motor Park and the
following three years I continued to finish well in points with a 4th in
1993, 6th in 1994 and a 2nd in 1995 at the same track.
1998 to 2000 I began learning more about Stock Cars as a Pit
Crewmember for my brother Mike Root whom also races at Berlin
Raceway & was 2002 Sportsman Champion.
2001 - I began competing as an Owner/Driver driving the #99 for 7
races at Berlin Raceway finishing 40th in season points. The
following year I competed in a few more races where I received my
first Feature win.
2003- Showed to be an improving year for the #99
With better qualifying times I was able to accomplish;
7 Top Five Heat finishes & 1 Heat win.
6 Top Five Consolation Race finishes & 1 win.
Out of more than 40 competitors this year I was able to finish with a
respectful 26th place in season points.
2004 - With some changes to improve the #99 I was able to
accomplish;
8 Top Five Heat finishes & 2 Heat wins.
9 Top Ten Race finishes, 2 Top Five & 1 win, also 1 Hard Charger
Award.
To round out the season I finished with an improved 23rd place in
season points.
2005 - Started out a promising one, we started out fairly well
reaching 11th in the points race before having engine problems.
Despite falling back to the 28th position, we were able to finish the
year with a respectable 18th place finish in points.
